RANDOLPH BAKER – GETTING NEXT TO YOU

Novo lançamento (previsto para 13 de Julho) de uma editora especializada em Disco / Soul / African - chamada Kalita Records. Esta é a primeira reedição oficial de quatro faixas do disco de Randolph Baker, lançado em 1982, "Reaching For The Stars", juntamente com uma versão instrumental inédita de 'Party Life', proveniente das fitas originais.

Originalmente gravado no Morrisound Studios de Jim Morris e Rick Miller, "Getting Next To You" mostra talentos da Flórida ao lado da estrela de jazz Nat Adderley e do baixista John Lamb, todos em excelente forma. Originalmente impresso como uma tiragem limitada a 1000 cópias, o álbum tem sido muito procurado e agora é reconhecido como uma verdadeira obra-prima independente do Disco.

Esta tão esperada reedição apresenta as quatro faixas do álbum, totalmente remasterizadas: "Getting Next To You", "Jazzman", "Callin'Me" e "Party Life" (vocal + instrumental inédito). O disco apresenta ainda uma entrevista exclusiva a Randolph Baker, juntamente com fotos inéditas.

New release from a great new disco / soul / African reissue label called Kalita Records - the first ever official reissue of four tracks from Randolph Baker’s elusive privately pressed 1982 disco album, ‘Reaching For The Stars’, along with a previously unreleased instrumental version of ‘Party Life’ sourced from the original tapes. 

Originally recorded at Jim Morris and Rick Miller’s Tampa-based Morrisound Studios, ‘Getting Next To You’ features local Florida talent alongside jazz superstar Nat Adderley and bassist John Lamb, all on superb form. Originally pressed as a limited run of 1000 copies, the album has long been sought after and is now recognised as a true independent disco masterpiece.

This long-awaited reissue features the four in-demand tracks from the album, fully remastered: ‘Getting Next To You’, 'Jazzman’, ‘Callin’ Me’ and ‘Party Life’ (vocal + previously unreleased instrumental). The package features an exclusive interview with Randolph Baker along with previously unseen photos.
